The Free Binder Program is sponsored by the Kiwanis LGBT+ Club of Southern California. The Kiwanis LGBT+ Club of Southern California is a local service organization comprised of a variety of individuals who volunteer and serve the LGBTQ+ youth by fundraising and performing service projects to better the lives of LGBTQ+ youth.

This program is dedicated towards providing binders for transgender, nonbinary, or other gender-nonconforming individuals 13-24 years old who cannot afford a binder, or cannot safely obtain a binder themselves.

We are only offering binders to residents of the United States at this time. Additionally, residents of California, Nevada, and Hawaii will be given priority as that is the area our club serves.

Please read through all of the FAQs located below before filling out the form to sign up for a free binder.

If you would like to donate money or gently used binders, please email support@kiwanislgbtsocal.org.

KIWANIS LGBT+ CLUB OF SOUTHERN CA FREE BINDER PROGRAM FORM SIGN UP

How does the program work?

Fill out the application provided and your submission will be added to a list. We will go down the list and when it is your turn, we will email you to confirm that your information is still correct (email will be coming from support@kiwanislgbtsocal.org). After that, we will order the binder and have it shipped to us. Then, we’ll package it up with some goodies and send it your way!

Residents of California, Nevada, and Hawaii will be given first priority of receiving a binder, as this is the district our club serves.

What information will be required in the application?

In the application, we will ask you for your name, binder style preference, binder color preference, binder size, mailing address and a few other simple questions.

What are the requirements for signing up for this program?

We ask that only residents of the United States who are between the ages of 13 and 24 sign up for this program.

Can I receive a binder if I live outside the United States?

No, currently we are only delivering to residents of the United States.

Where are the binders from?

Using the submitted application form, we will purchase the binders from either GC2B or Underworks, depending on your choice. We will then package up the binder ourselves and ship them out to you!

Can I choose what kind of binder I receive?

Yes, in the application form, you can choose the color of binder, style (short, long, etc.) and whether you would like to receive a binder from GC2B or Underworks. You can also select whether you would be willing to receive a gently used binder from someone who has donated theirs to the program.

How do I know what size I am?

Sizing is very important when wearing a binder. You don’t want to get one that is too small, because it could damage your ribs and make it difficult to breathe. You can use this video from GC2B to find out what size is right for you:

We also include the Underworks and GC2B sizing charts in the application. If you are in between two sizes, you should size up so you do not hurt yourself. If at any point while wearing your binder you have difficulty breathing, feel faint, or have chest pain, remove your binder and give your body a break. Your health is most important!

Is there an option for discreet shipping?

Yes! All of the binders we send out will be packaged discreetly. The binders we send out will be packaged in plain packaging. Inside the package will be your binder, a few stickers, and a card on how to safely bind and wash your binder. If you have any special requests, please let us know in the “Additional Notes” portion of the form and we will do our best to accommodate.

When will I receive my binder?

Currently, we are sending out one binder per month. Because of this, it may take a while to get to your name on the list.

Do you allow exchanges or returns?

Unfortunately we do not offer exchanges or returns. Because of this, it’s very important to make sure you pick the correct size for you. If something is wrong with your binder or you have feedback, email us at support@kiwanislgbtsocal.org.

How do I wash my binder?

It is recommended that you wash your binder by hand using cold water and a mild detergent to reduce risk of damage. There are more specific directions included on the card that will come with your binder. If you are not able to hand wash, you can also use the delicate wash setting on your washing machine.

I have a question that isn’t listed here.

If you have a question not listed in our FAQ, you can email us at support@kiwanislgbtsocal.org and we will get you an answer as soon as we can.
